“Giving clean water, giving life.”

In many villages around Namutumba and neighboring areas, access to clean and safe water is still a daily struggle. Families—especially children and women—walk long distances to fetch water from ponds, swamps, or open streams. These sources are not only unsafe but often contaminated, leading to the spread of diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and diarrhea.

At Sychar Healing Ministries, we believe that clean water is not a luxury—it is a basic human right and a powerful way to show the love of God in action. That is why we started the Sychar Safe Water Project, a life-transforming initiative to bring clean, safe, and accessible water to the most vulnerable communities.

Our Vision

To provide safe and sustainable water sources for rural villages by drilling boreholes and installing protected wells, while also educating communities on hygiene and sanitation.

What We Do

  • Borehole Drilling and Well Construction
  • We identify water-stressed communities and drill deep wells that can serve hundreds of families. These wells are carefully placed near schools, churches, or community centers to maximize impact.
  • Water Education and Sanitation
  • Alongside water provision, we train community members on hygiene practices, water conservation, and how to protect the well from contamination.
  • Community Ownership
  • Each water point is handed over to a trained local water committee who oversee its use, safety, and sustainability. This empowers the community to care for and protect their own resource.

The Impact

  •  Improved Health: Clean water drastically reduces waterborne diseases, especially among children and the elderly.
  • Time Saved: Women and children no longer have to walk long distances for water—this means more time for school, work, and family.
  • Restored Dignity: Access to water brings hope, dignity, and development. It opens doors to farming, hygiene, and a better future.

Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us move one step closer to bringing life and hope to a thirsty land.

“Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.” – Psalm 71:9 Together, we can make their last days their best days. Let’s remind them they are still loved, still valued, and still part of God’s plan.
