Sychar Healing Ministries first church was founded in 2010 by Kosima Guloba in Bunyanze Village, Kizuba Sub-County, Namutumba District. What began as a small gathering of just 15 children and 5 adults in a modest room quickly grew into a vibrant and Spirit-filled fellowship. As more people were drawn to the message of hope, healing, and salvation, the space became too small—and the church moved under a large tree to accommodate the increasing number of worshipers.

With dedication and sacrifice, the ministry grew steadily. Within a few years, the congregation expanded to over 250 members. In an effort to provide a more permanent place of worship, a sub-standard structure was built through local contributions. However, on Sunday, 17th May 2016, during a service, strong winds struck and completely destroyed the building. By God’s grace, no lives were lost, and only minor injuries were reported.

Since that day, the resilient congregation of Sychar Healing Ministries has continued to gather under a tree, praying, worshipping, and trusting God for a better, more stable place of worship. The spirit remains unbroken, and the mission continues—with love, faith, and unity.
